Through the generous support of Blackfeet youth current sponsors and donors, Blackfeet Youth Development of Browning, Montana fulfills its mission of helping Blackfeet youth prepare for life by finding and keeping caring sponsors and donors who assist them in securing a strong and viable future. Acknowledged as one of the most powerful tribes on the North plains, the Blackfeet, Aamsskaapipiikanii, are a traditional confederacy of four independent nations presently living in Montana and the province of Alberta, Canada.
The name originates from the distinctive black hue of the mosccasins that were either painted that color or perhaps darkened by prairie fires.
